A 2-year study of the Pilates Method with a total of 1000 hours of lectures, seminars, self practice, observation, and supervised teaching. Learn the technique in-depth, and great detail from experienced and established professionals, and become a teacher of the highest standards. January 2022

First year: undergraduate

Lectures and modules are taught over 36 weeks, on Sundays 10 am-2 pm , term times. Guided/supervised study time is required at PEAR studios (8 hours/week apr.)

  • Pilates Matwork P.E.A.R. Diploma (includes relevant Anatomy and Physiology).

  • Pilates Apparatus PEAR Diploma

  • Level 3 mat Diploma (optional). This is an additional study and requires extra time of around 300 mainly online.

  • Barrels PEAR Diploma

  • Reformer PEAR Diploma

 Students are supported and assessed throughout their first year of study.

 Diplomas will be given after completing each section and trainees will be able to start teaching before the end  of their year.

 Requirements: Interview and dedication.

 Costs: Year 1 undergraduate course £3600+VAT inclusive of tuition, manuals, exams and supervised practice.

                Level 3 Pilates Mat: £1055.25+VAT all inclusive

Pilates Education and Research Ltd is a Kickstart partner, helping young people to get into employment.

Four scholarships up to 100% will be given to young (up to 25 years old) dance or musical theatre graduates, subject to personal circumstances and interview.

Overview

  • 180 hours of pilates tuition: 79 modules on Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chairs, Barrels, Wobble Boards, and  small apparatus at Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced levels

  • 20 hours of lectures on anatomy, physiology and medical conditions including: study of the skeletal, muscular, and respiratory systems; a brief study of all other systems of the human body; physiology and a brief on degenerative medical conditions that pilates benefits

  • 500 hours of guided studio practice, observation and supervised teaching (compulsory) 

  • 300 hours additional practice (recommended and supported)

  • Over 300 exercises and variations on Mat and equipment supported by manuals

  • Breathing techniques

  • Hands on techniques.

  • Relaxation and release techniques.

  • Exercises’ analysis and insights

  • Pregnancy adapted exercises.

  • Alignment and postural analysis.

  • Focus and coordination skills.

  • Observation skills.

  • Verbal cues. 

  • Fascial release techniques.

  • Rehabilitation techniques. 

  • Continuous assessments to ensure learning

  • Exams on Anatomy, Physiology, and the Pilates Method

  • Certification of Advanced Teacher from Pilates Education and Research Ltd and partners.

  • Level 3 Certification accredited by a UK approved body. (optional extra with an additional 200 hours of lectures and study)
