A 2-year study of the Pilates Method with a total of over 1000 hours of lectures, seminars, self practice, observation, and supervised teaching. 2 Year Programme Overview
Course content: 300 hours - 70 modules of theory and practice:

Anatomy, physiology: thorough study of the skeletal, muscular, systems and postural analysis.

Pilates Principles study: Breathing, and Hands on techniques. Relaxation and release techniques.

Degenerative medical conditions that Pilates benefits.

Mat: beginners - intermediate - advanced - classical.
-
Reformer: beginners - intermediate - advanced.
-
Cadillac: beginners - intermediate - advanced.
-
Wunda Chair/Stability Chair: beginners - intermediate - advanced.
-
Arm Chair.
-
Guillotine: beginners - intermediate - advanced.
-
Step, Arc and Ladder Barrels: beginners - intermediate - advanced.
-
Wobble Boards,
-
Pilates apparatus (Bands, Balls, Rings, Weights): beginners - intermediate - advanced.
-
Remedial Pilates.
-
Fascial release exercises.

Pilates for pregnancy.
-
Pilates for dancers and athletes.
Additional information and learning support:

500 hours of guided studio practice, observation, and supervised teaching (compulsory).

300 hours additional practice (recommended and supported).

Case studies.

Continuous assessments to ensure learning.

Theoritical and practical Exams of each topic.

Over 300 exercises and variations on Mat and Equipment supported by manuals.

Exercises’ analysis and insights, development of observation and verbal cues skills.​

Diplomas are awarded after completing each section with the exam, and students normally will be ready to teach before the end of their first year.

Diplomas are awarded from Pilates Education and Research with international recognotion by reputation of its team.​​​​​

Certification of Advanced Teacher from Pilates Education and Research Ltd and partners will be awarded at the end of the 2 year programme.

OUTCOMES:

Diploma in teaching Pilates Mat, beginners, intermediate, advanced, classical. (Includes relevant Anatomy and Physiology).

Diploma in teaching Reformer: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced.

Diploma in teaching Cadillac: Basics, intermediate.
-
Diploma in teaching Pilates Apparatus: balls, bands, weights, wobble boards.
-
Diploma in teaching Spine Corrector and Half Barrel (Arc).
-
Diploma in teaching Ladder Barrel.

*Students are supported and assessed throughout their first year of study.
*Diplomas will be given after completing each section and relevant exam and case studies.
*Trainees will be able to start teaching before the end of their year.
*Certification requires 95% attendance and 95% exam marks.

DURATION:
One year with 27 lectures and modules are taught September-June, on Sundays 10 am-4 pm, and/or Saturdays 2.30 pm - 5.30 pm 1 to 3 weekends per month. Excluding school holidays. Additional guided/supervised study time is required on weekdays at PEAR studios London or partner studios (8 hours/week apr.).
