Following a career in the Royal Navy, Richard trained in the Pilates method (1999) and formed part of a team of Pilates teacher trainers for both matwork and equipment based exercise and rehabilitation. He subsequently graduated as an Osteopath in 2008 and further trained to qualify as a Western Medical Acupuncture practitioner.

In addition to his private practice, Richard provides ‘in-house’ osteopathic clinics at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, providing treatment and advice to performers and support staff. He is also a clinical tutor at The University College of Osteopathy.

Richard has been a Judo player for over forty years, and continues to compete, as well as being a qualified referee.
